There is no single tow price in Philadelphia. A requested roadside tow is quoted before dispatch. If the Philadelphia Parking Authority towed you, its published fees apply. A boot is $150. A tow under 11,000 pounds is $175. Storage is $25 per day plus 22.5% tax. Suburbs set their own rates. Quick Tow Philadelphia does not publish a brand price.
What a requested roadside tow costs
Quick Tow Philadelphia is a referral service. We take the call and match you with an independent local operator. That operator quotes the job before anyone rolls. We own no trucks. We set no rates. No operator rate card is on file for this metro. A typical number would be a guess, and we don’t guess on money.
Tell the operator where the car sits, where it needs to go, and what happened. A dead sedan on the I-95 shoulder near Cottman is one job. An all-wheel-drive SUV that needs a flatbed off a Center City ramp is another. Give those details before you accept the quote. Call (610) 557-1544, or use the contact page. The line takes calls 24 hours.
For emergency towing, you still hear the price first. The number you hear on the phone is the number on the invoice.
What a PPA city tow costs
Inside the city, the Parking Authority handles most parking tows in Center City, University City, and commercial corridors. Police handle parking elsewhere.
PPA publishes its fees at philapark.org/tow. They are PPA’s numbers, not ours, and not a suburban rate.
For passenger cars under 11,000 pounds:
- Boot removal is $150.
- A straight tow is $175. A live stop is $225.
- Storage is $25.00 per 24 hours, plus 22.5% tax.
A boot is not a tow yet. PPA boots a vehicle with three or more unpaid parking, red-light, or speed-camera tickets. It also boots when $300 or more is owed. Once the boot is on, you have 72 hours. Pay the tickets plus the $150 boot fee in that window. The $175 tow fee applies only after those 72 hours run. After a boot release, move the vehicle within 2 hours.
Storage adds up by the day. Pick the car up as soon as you can pay. This page does not list payment methods. That list was not confirmed from philapark.org/tow. Bring photo ID and proof of ownership, and ask the lot for the rest. If you don’t know which lot has the car, see how to find your towed car in Philadelphia.
What a suburban impound costs
Upper Darby, Norristown, King of Prussia, Bensalem, and West Chester are not the PPA. Delaware, Montgomery, Bucks, and Chester counties each run their own lots. Each municipality sets its own fee. A neighbor in Center City quoting $175 is not quoting your township.
Pennsylvania Title 75 §3352 covers police removal. The municipality may set rates. If it has set no rate, storage is capped at $25 per day. That cap is a fallback, not a published suburban menu. Call the township that towed you. Ask for the tow fee, daily storage, and the lot address.
What a private-property tow costs
A car pulled from an apartment lot, a mall, or a posted space is a private-property tow. Statewide law is 73 P.S. §1971 et seq. The company must post fees and hours. It must give itemized written charges. It may not refuse release during posted hours once you pay. It may not tow more than 16 miles without owner or law-enforcement authorization.
Inside Philadelphia, Code 9-605 adds a city license and written permission from the property owner. The only confirmed dollar cap under 9-605 is for heavy vehicles: 17,000 pounds and up, a $360 tow plus $75 per 24 hours of storage. This site does not publish a passenger-vehicle private-property cap. That figure is not confirmed.
Ask the company for an itemized total before you pay. If you manage a lot, see private-property towing.
What makes a requested job cost more
Weight, distance, access, and method all change the quote. A straight pull on a dry lot is one thing. A heavy-duty truck on I-95 is another. The operator prices the work in front of you. Pennsylvania Act 46 of 2026 takes effect December 17, 2026. Until that date, the rules above are the ones in force.
