If a car vanishes in Philadelphia, start at findmytowedcar.org, not at a stolen-car report. A missing car has often been booted, towed to a PPA lot, or relocated. Quick Tow Philadelphia can’t get the car out of a pound. We match drivers with operators after the lot releases it.
Find the car first
The lookup is findmytowedcar.org, with advanced search at findmytowedcar.org/advancesearch. The publishable phone is 888-591-3636. Don’t use a generic city information line as the finder. Snow-emergency tows have a separate line: (215) 686-SNOW, or philapark.org/tow.
Lot 1 is at 2501 Weccacoe Ave, (215) 683-9550. Lot 6 is at 4701 Bath Street, (215) 683-9510. Lot 10 is at 6 E. Oregon Avenue, (215) 683-9601. PPA uses more lots than these three. Confirm the lot on findmytowedcar.org before you drive.
Temporary no-parking for events, utility work, film shoots, or block parties can move a legally parked car. That is a relocation, not a theft. Check the lookup first. Bring photo ID and proof of ownership, and ask the lot what else it needs. Payment methods and lot hours could not be confirmed for this page.
What PPA can charge on a city tow
PPA’s published fees for vehicles under 11,000 pounds, as listed on philapark.org/tow, were the source for the figures below. Boot removal is $150. The tow is $175 straight or $225 live stop. Storage is $25.00 per 24 hours plus 22.5 percent tax. Those are PPA’s figures, not this brand’s price. They aren’t a suburban rate.
A boot can go on after 3 or more unpaid parking, red-light, or speed-camera tickets, or $300 or more owed. After the boot is on, you have 72 hours to pay the tickets plus the $150 boot fee before a tow. Remove the vehicle within 2 hours of boot release.
A PPA parking tow accrues storage daily. Pick it up as soon as you can pay. Don’t treat Title 75 §7305’s 30-day reclaim window as a city parking hold. That 30-day clock is for the abandoned-vehicle salvor process after mailed notice.
If the car was towed in Upper Darby, Norristown, Bensalem, or West Chester, you aren’t in the PPA system. Ask that municipality. Title 75 §3352 caps storage at $25 a day only if the municipality has set no rate.
Private-lot rights under 73 P.S. §1971
On a private lot, 73 P.S. §1971 et seq. requires posted fees and hours, release during posted hours, and itemized written charges. A tower may not haul more than 16 miles without owner or law-enforcement authorization. Inside Philadelphia, Code 9-605 requires a licensed company and written permission from the property owner.
Sports-complex overflow on Pattison Avenue, University City move-in lots, and apartment HOAs are common private-lot settings. Read the posted hours before you argue at a closed gate. The statute requires release during posted hours, not at an hour the facility did not post.
Pennsylvania’s all-party consent rule is about recording, not about towing. Title 18 §5703 makes recording without all parties’ consent a third-degree felony. It doesn’t unlock a pound. The phone line for this brand plays a notice before recording starts. That notice is the consent step, not a tow-release step.
What this brand can’t do
We can’t pay PPA. We can’t sign a lot release. We can’t waive storage. We own no trucks and run no yard. Once the facility releases the car, emergency towing is the referral for the onward move. See all services if the job is a breakdown instead of an impound.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I look up a towed car in Philadelphia?
findmytowedcar.org or 888-591-3636. Confirm the lot before you travel. A missing car may have been relocated, not stolen.
Can Quick Tow Philadelphia get my car out of the pound?
No. This brand is a referral line. It doesn’t run a PPA lot, a township impound, or a private storage yard. Once the facility releases the car, we can match you with an operator for the onward tow.
Does all-party consent stop a tow?
No. Title 18 §5703 is Pennsylvania’s recording rule. It isn’t a towing statute. It doesn’t create a right to refuse a lawful tow or to skip lot payment.
What if the tower hauled the car more than 16 miles?
Under 73 P.S. §1971, a tower may not tow more than 16 miles without owner or law-enforcement authorization. Ask the facility who authorized the extra miles, and keep the itemized charges.
